Juan Manuel Fangio is the most successful Formula One driver of all time, having won 5 Driver Championships. Alain Prost is the 2nd most successful, having won 4 titles, 3 of which were with the McLaren team.

Those winning 3 driver championships are Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna.

Riccardo Patrese has driven in more Grands Prix than any other driver (256), followed by Andrea De Cesaris (208), Nelson Piquet (204) and Alain Prost (199).

Alain Prost has won more Grand Prix points than any other driver (798.5), followed by Ayrton Senna with 614 and Nelson Piquet with 485.5.

Drivers who have had the highest number of wins in a season are Michael Schumacher (1995) and Nigel Mansell (1992), both having had 9 wins.

Bruce McLaren and Troy Ruttman were the youngest ever F1 winners, aged 22 (Bruce McLaren's first win was the USA Grand Prix in 1959).
